Credited with launching American folk music into mainstream popularity, the legendary Kingston Trio’s songs range from the storytelling “Tom Dooley” and “Sinking of the Reuben James,” to the humorous “Tijuana Jail.” While hits such as “M.T.A.” fit the 1960’s music-with-a-message era and remain relevant today, part of their charm has always been that they never take themselves too seriously.
